Expect to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, rhinos (at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – optional), and giraffes, alongside chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

Meet your private safari guide at Entebbe International Airport before setting off for Murchison Falls National Park, located in northwestern Uganda. The journey offers views of roadside markets, rural settlements, and lush landscapes. Arrive in the park and settle into your lodge for an evening at leisure.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Nile River Boat Safari

Begin your day with a game drive across Murchison’s expansive savannah plains. Look out for elephants, lions, buffalos, Jackson’s hartebeest, and Rothschild’s giraffes. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile thunders through a narrow gorge. A guided hike to the top of the falls offers panoramic views and photo opportunities.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Scenic Highlands Drive

After breakfast, head southwards to Kibale Forest National Park, passing through tea plantations, crater lakes, and rural communities. Depending on arrival time and interest, optional activities like a Bigodi Wetland walk or a visit to the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves are available.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After lunch, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may opt for a short evening drive or visit the nearby twin crater lakes.

Day 5: Game Drive in Kasenyi Plains – Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Begin the day with a sunrise game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, one of the best spots to find lions, elephants, antelope species, and birdlife. In the afternoon, cruise the Kazinga Channel, where animals gather along the banks to drink, cool off, or hunt. Expect to see hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles, and vibrant bird species.

Day 6: Tree-Climbing Lions of Ishasha – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Travel through the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the famed tree-climbing lions. These lions are often seen lounging in fig trees during the day. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the heart of Uganda’s mountain gorilla conservation efforts. Rest and prepare for the next day’s trek.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing and set off into Bwindi’s dense rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Spend up to an hour observing the gorillas in their natural environment, guided by expert trackers. After the trek, transfer to the serene Lake Bunyonyi, surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with 29 scenic islands.

Day 8: Return to Entebbe – Stop at the Equator Line

Enjoy a relaxed morning at Lake Bunyonyi before heading back to Entebbe. En route, stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photographs and souvenir shopping. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening in time for your flight.
