Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Airport Meet & Greet
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your professional English-speaking safari guide who will transfer you to your guesthouse in Entebbe. Enjoy a relaxed evening as you receive a comprehensive briefing about your upcoming safari.
Day 2: Drive to Fort Portal – Kibale Forest National Park
Begin your day with an early breakfast before setting off for Fort Portal, located in western Uganda. The drive takes you through the bustling city of Kampala and lush tea plantations with photo stops along the way. Stop for lunch in Fort Portal town and stretch your legs with a short walk around the local food market by the Mpanga River. Later, drive through the scenic Ndali-Kasenda Crater Lakes region before arriving at Rubalika Safari Lodge and Farm for your overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a briefing before venturing into the tropical forest in search of chimpanzees. The trekking experience typically lasts 2–3 hours, guided by an expert ranger. Later, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, an important birding site where you may spot the elusive Shoebill Stork, monkeys, and rich flora. The day ends with a community walk and relaxed evening back at the lodge.
Day 4: Vanilla & Coffee Tour – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spend the morning exploring the lodge’s surrounding farmland with a guided tour of local vanilla and coffee plantations. Enjoy a bush-style breakfast overlooking Kibale Forest near the Dura River. Afterward, check out and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, pausing for photos at the Equator line. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at Mweya Lodge before heading out for a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a hotspot for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and abundant birdlife including African Fish Eagles and Pied Kingfishers. Continue to the southern Ishasha sector for a sunset game drive, searching for the famous tree-climbing lions before checking in at Enjojo Lodge.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Start the day with a morning wildlife drive through the Ishasha sector. Keep an eye out for elephants, Uganda Kobs, and leopards. After the drive, continue south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Check in at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge.
Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Visit
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking orientation. You’ll then set off in a small group to locate one of the habituated gorilla families, accompanied by expert trackers and guides. This once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. After the trek, engage with the Batwa pygmy community and learn about their traditional forest-dwelling lifestyle. Return to the lodge for a restful evening.
Day 7: Scenic Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Leave Bwindi behind and travel to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic highland lakes. With over 20 small islands and terraced hills, Lake Bunyonyi offers opportunities for canoe excursions to explore local legends and island history. Enjoy a serene lakeside evening and overnight at a comfortable lodge.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, travel northeast toward Lake Mburo National Park, passing through Mbarara town for lunch. Upon arrival, check in at Hyena Hill Lodge. Enjoy an evening game drive, spotting animals like zebra, eland, impala, giraffes, and other savannah wildlife before dinner.
Day 9: Walking Safari & Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo
Wake up early for a guided walking safari, one of the few such experiences permitted in Uganda's national parks. This provides a chance to closely observe wildlife on foot. Later, drive to the lake for a boat cruise, watching for hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds along the shoreline. Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge.
Day 10: Optional Cycling Experience & Return to Entebbe
Start the day with an optional guided cycling excursion around the park’s outskirts. After breakfast and freshening up, check out and begin your return journey to Entebbe. Pause at the Equator Monument at Kayabwe for a final photo and souvenir shopping opportunity before concluding your safari in Entebbe—either at your preferred hotel or at the airport in time for your departure flight.
